September in Heidelberg smells of the end of summer and the beginning of something else. The light turns golden, the days grow shorter, and the garden begins to turn inward. It is the time of giving thanks.
This temazcal ceremony is dedicated to Metakyase — to gratitude for the webs of life that hold us. Metakyase, a concept from the Sacred Fire tradition, means something like: ‘I recognise myself in all things and all things in myself.’ It is gratitude without conditions — gratitude for the relationships that shape us: to people, to animals, to plants, to the ancestors, to what is yet to come.
This ceremony closes the active ceremonial calendar of 2025 at Ruca Kreis. The circle closes — rich with fire, rich with encounter, rich with gratitude.
